SCRIPT
For any kind of film it is important to have a script. A script defines the entire plan and direction of the film. This can be shown through the planning of the shots and how you can then create a consistent sequence of shots. These shots can then be timed and edited correctly. For our trailer we required two different sections which we placed into our script into. The first of these sections is the therapy section where Nathan our main actor proceeds to narrate and discuss what he is feeling over our trailer. A script helped us to define and alter what he would say. It also would help to structure our film and make sure the themes are coherent and compliant. This voiceover, would form the main aspect of our trailer.
The second section would be the slow demise of various victims shown throughout the trailer. Each of these victims would be suffocated to ensure their bodies remained intact for the final scene. We decided after doing this script what different killing scenes to include such as Will being strangled. We also included a hanging scene with Alex before the shots of Amber being stalked by Nathan. Instead of the stabbing scene with Vik as the victim, we decided to suffocate her using a plastic bag to the general trend of suffocation remains constant throughout the trailer.
Our original script contained many different ideas which formed the basis of our trailer. This meant we had many different scenes and ideas which were changed or removed to create an effective character narrative provided by Nathan. We gave him this script and allowed him to improvise some lines in order to get a range of dialogue to use and experiment with in our trailer. We also reconsidered having the manifestation speaking to make it more inhuman and also so there wasn't too much dialogue in the trailer.
