Location Choices and time of day filming
OUTDOOR SHOTS
One of the locations within our trailer, was a busy high street area.
for this idea, we decided to use the closet high street in Gloucester. This suited our expectations, as it was busy, due to christmas, but it was also a darkened day, due to it being winter and in the evening. This made this location a perfect match to what we wanted. We wanted to film a scene where the killer could be hidden in plain sight watching a specific target. The target feeling like she was safe shopping in a busy street, is actually vulnerable. We used several alleys, within the city centre to portray suggestive killing. As its not shown her being kidnapped, just the location was used for her to walk down as the killer approaches. |
INDOORS SHOTS
In our trailer we needed many different shots and scenes which required different settings to show how sinister some of them were. Each scene in the trailer has a different scenario and is made up of a number of different shots, but did not necessarily have to be in chronological order. This allowed us flexibility when it came to the time of day in which to film. We filmed many shots indoors as many of the locations didn't require a dark setting as the shots need to be visible and not completely dark. For the shots which required a darker setting we filmed in dark locations and in the winter months it got darker outside quicker and therefore we had more time filming. In other indoor locations the walls, floor and ceiling were white or plain. This allowed the audience to focus on what was going on in the shots and to listen to the dialogue. The white wash effect also created the trailer an unnatural and sinister appeal.
